Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has just shared a doom-laden new instrumental song called “Deified,” which coincides with the metal legend’s recently announced cologne of the same name. Iommi was joined on “Deified” by keyboardist Mike Exeter (who also co-produced the track with Iommi), drummer Karl Brazil, and bassist Laurence Cottle, along with orchestration provided by Ben Andrew. “Deified” is Iommi’s second cologne, following “Scent of Dark,” which was also accompanied by a song to promote the fragrance.

“‘Deified’ is a heavier, more medieval track than ‘Scent of Dark.’ We’ve added voices and beefed up the overall sound,” said Iommi. The new track is also accompanied by a mostly animated music video which was created by animation director Donato Sansone, with production and art direction provided by Sergio Momo, the CEO of Xerjoff, the fragrance company that released Iommi’s cologne.
