Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band finished up their current run of U.S. dates in style, playing a special homecoming show on September 15 in Asbury Park at the Sea.Hear.Now Festival. That 3-hour, 30-song headlining set became an instant classic, with Springsteen dusting off classic tracks, rarely-played deep cuts, and choice cover songs during the career-spanning show that thrilled the enormous crowd gathered on the New Jersey beachfront. In celebration of Springsteen’s 75th birthday on Monday (September 25), a live album documenting that incredible performance has been released on CD and is available for streaming on nugs.net.

In addition to Springsteen sharing personal hometown stories while taking a musical trip down memory lane, the show was made even more emotional by the return of backup singer (and Bruce’s wife) Patti Scialfa on a moving version of “Tougher Than the Rest.” Scialfa recently revealed that she was diagnosed with the blood cancer multiple myeloma in 2018, which has caused her to miss a number of shows over the past year.
