In a new Substack post, Faith No More’s keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Roddy Bottum shared an update on his long dormant band. FNM haven’t played a show together in nine years, and Bottum says his musical plans for the future does not include playing with the 90s alt-rock legends, whose breakthrough hit “Epic” reached No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in September of 1990. Bottum is living and working with his boyfriend in New York City while playing in three different bands: Man On Man, Crickets, and Nastie Band. The musician then gave this update on Faith No More: “FNM is kind of on semi permanent hiatus and Imperial Teen is making a record slowly but definitely.” Faith No More were scheduled to play a series of reunion shows in 2022, following the postponement of their 2021 tour due to frontman Mike Patton’s mental health struggles and battles with agoraphobia, but activity on the FNM front has clearly grown cold since then.
